GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Tajh Bellow Celebrates His Anniversary!
Please join us in congratulating Tajh Bellow on his Port Charles anniversary! “Four years ago today, I made my debut on GENERAL HOSPITAL and took over the role of TJ Ashford,” the actor shared on Nov. 20 with an Instagram gallery of screenshots and galleries from his time on the soap. “It’s truly special to be able to go to work with people I call my friends, and even family. Love y’all!”
The character of TJ first appeared in January 2012 played by Kris Meyer, but by August, the role was recast with Tequan Richmond. When he went on recurring status with GH, his appearances became increasingly sporadic until November 2018 when Bellow stepped in. And being a recast, the actor knows just how difficult that can be for some viewers to accept. “Thank you to our amazing fans, who always show up,” Bellow expressed. “Thank you for accepting me as TJ and supporting me with kindness.
“Huge thanks to our writers, who set the path and foundation in a way that allowed me to grow into TJ and make him my own,” he continued. “And last, but not least, thank you to our fantastic executive producer, Frank Valentini, for believing in me and creating this dream opportunity. So much love. Four years!”
During that time, TJ has become an intern at General Hospital and been mixed up in plenty of drama there (for instance, his comforting of Willow during her leukemia diagnosis that was misinterpreted by some as the two having an affair!) but he’s remained very content with Molly and their legalized domestic partnership.
And co-star Haley Pullos (Molly) is also delighted with her castmate! “So happy I get to call you my TV hubby!” she responded to his heartfelt post. “Congrats, love!”
Bellow has already earned one Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2021 for Outstanding Younger Performer, so keep watching GH to see what happens next to TJ and if his portrayer earns even more accolades as he continues his amazing run on the soap!
