Eva LaRue Struggling to Recover John Callahan’s Stolen Identity

Tags:

The death of ALL MY CHILDREN star John Callahan (Edmund) in March sent the daytime community reeling, especially his ex-wife and former co-star Eva LaRue (Maria). “It has definitely been a roller coaster because not only is my daughter [Kaya Callahan] grieving so hard,” the actress told Fox News, “but I’m grieving separately in my way, too, because he has been my great friend.”

However, beyond mourning Callahan’s loss, LaRue has also had to contend with his identity being stolen! “And at the same time, somebody broke into his house right after he died and stole his identity, his car, his laptop,” she lamented. “They have been taking out loans and credit cards in his name and they’ve siphoned money out of his bank account. It’s been a nightmare. A nightmare.”

LaRue, who recently won a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance as Celeste on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, has been struggling to get the situation under control and bring the perpetrator to justice. “As you can imagine, every phone call is being put on hold for like, 20 minutes or an hour or two, and then people being like, ‘I’m sorry, we can’t help you,’” she confided. “It’s just like a bureaucratic nightmare. Every phone call that we make to try to fix the situation is just insane.”

Thankfully, it looks as though this ordeal may soon be coming to an end. “It’s just sick and messed up,” LaRue declared before adding, “I mean, the good thing is that they’re circling the wagons around this person. So he’s going to get caught. But in the meantime, it’s wreaked such havoc for the last four months. like, such crazy havoc.”

Our hearts go out to LaRue and the entire family during this difficult time and hopefully, this criminal is caught and punished soon!
