Adam Huss Opens up About Returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

Fans were disappointed when NIkolas’ story on GENERAL HOSPITAL came to an end when Ava knocked him over the head and hid his body. But when it was later revealed that the Cassadine prince was being kept alive on life support by Austin’s cousin, Mason, and whoever he’s working for, viewers had hope that Nik might one day return.

The role of Nikolas Cassadine has been played by multiple actors since the character’s introduction back in 1996. Originally played by Tyler Christopher, the role was recast with Coltin Scott for a few years and actors like Chris Beetem and Nick Stabile have stepped in to take over briefly. In 2019, GH recast with Marcus Coloma, but after Adam Huss filled in a couple of times, the soap tapped him to finish out the storyline. And he couldn’t have been more thrilled.

“Before this opportunity as Nikolas came up, I’d already dove into the world of GH and knew who certain people were, and all the different families,” Huss confided in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Plus, when I was younger, no joke, I totally remember seeing Soap Opera Digest at the supermarket checkout stand, and for some reason, what caught my eye was the triangle between Lucky and Elizabeth and Nikolas. Even though I wasn’t even a big soap watcher back then, I knew that storyline, so it was just surreal when I got to step into the shoes of this character.”

And it’s a character he would love to play again if GH chose to bring Nikolas back to the canvas. “I would be so honored to be asked back to that show,” Huss declared. “I love every ounce of it. I feel like soap operas are sort of the unsung hero [of entertainment]. I love the work that I got to do there.

“I feel I would just get better and better,” he added. “And seeing how much everyone who has been there for so long still has that passion, still cares so much, and wants it to be the best it can be? I’m like, ‘I get that. I want to be a part of that.’”
