Dominic Zamprgona Declares It’s “So Great to Be Back” on GENERAL HOSPITAL

As promised, Dominic Zamprogna has returned to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Dante, much to the delight of fans as well as his fellow cast and crew. “Thank you!” he declared on Twitter. “So great to be back with my family!”

Executive producer Frank Valentini urged fans to be sure not to miss the beginning of the Aug. 3 episode, the first all-new episode airing since GH went on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, promising it would “blow a lot of the audiences’ mind.” And sure enough, the “big surprise” that they inserted was Zamprogna as Dante waking up in the WSB facility and writing his mother a letter he never planned to send.

Zamprogna played Dante Falconeri from 2009 until 2018, and when he exited, he made it clear he was willing to come back, doing so for a brief run in March 2019. Although that second exit seemed to indicate Dante wouldn’t be back on the canvas for a while, by spring of 2020, Zamprogna told Soaps In Depth he was “ready to come home” to Port Charles.

Now that Zamprogna is back on the soap officially, it’s just a matter of time before Dante returns to Port Charles and tries to get his life back. How will he react to finding out that Lulu has moved on with Dustin (and that Dustin is ready to fight for her)? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
