GH’s Kelly Thiebaud Is Recovering From COVID
With the new Omicron variant tearing through the world, COVID cases are on the rise, and unfortunately, that means even the soap stars are testing positive for the virus. GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) shared on Jan. 12 that she was quarantining while battling coronavirus.
“Getting COVID has given me a lot of things, good and bad,” the actress tweeted. “One good has been the time to finally binge GAME OF THRONES. I do really wish I would’ve watched this with the rest of the world.”
Naturally, Thiebaud’s comments filled with sympathy, wishes for a speedy recovery, and a few warnings about the popular HBO series’ final season, which was widely seen as a disappointment by fans and critics!
This isn’t the first time that Thiebaud has had to quarantine due to COVID, but this is the first time that she’s actually had the virus! Back in April 2021, one of her COVID tests came back negative but the other gave a positive result, meaning she was unable to return to work at GH for 10 days.
Co-star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) recently revealed that she had also tested positive for COVID and was already on the mend. Hopefully, the soap is able to reschedule shooting days or write around these temporary absences as the actors are forced to quarantine before returning to work.
Because with Britt’s budding friendship with Austin, disobeying Selena’s orders to stay away from BFF Brad, and other assorted hospital drama, Thiebaud is needed on set! Fans can’t wait to see what happens next… and neither can we!
