Lexi Ainsworth Teases Her New Movie

Viewers were taken aback when GENERAL HOSPITAL announced that the role of Kristina would be recast with DAYS OF OUR LIVES alum Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail), but at the time, the departing Lexi Ainsworth called the decision “mutually beneficial” as she had her own new projects in the pipeline. 

While she has done some traveling recently, like her trip to the Amalfi Coast, Ainsworth’s acting career has been slowed down by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. “Yeah, that’s kind of halted a lot of different projects,” she admitted to SoapOperaNews.net. “It’s not stopping me from continuing to work, collaborating with other people on other projects, some unscripted projects that I’m working on. So that’s kind of what my focus is right now.

“We’re supposed to film a movie, but that’s postponed until we get clearance,” she added. “That’ll be filmed in Oklahoma, so it’s a thriller film called Masterpiece. So when that gets up and running, I’ll be sharing more about that. I’ll be producing and acting in that.”

Ainsworth also revealed that she would definitely consider returning to daytime in one of the other soaps. “I would be open to it,” she admitted. “I’ve got quite a few people, quite a few friends on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. I had two potential opportunities to work over there in the past, so I know that that could be a possibility, maybe at some point later down the line. I’m open to it.”
