Tune in to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Friday, Oct. 6, at 9 p.m. ET for the latest installment in the channel’s A Hannah Swensen Mystery franchise, starring Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) as the baker/amateur sleuth and Cameron Mathison (Drew, GENERAL HOSPITAL) as her estranged partner, Det. Mike Kingston! Titled A Zest For Death, the movie is based on the novel Lemon Meringue Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke, and also stars Barbara Niven (Liz, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) as Hannah’s mom, Delores.
According to the official synopsis for the flick, while house hunting for her daughter, Michelle, Delores discovers the dead body of the homeowner — Rhonda, a regular customer of Hannah’s bakery, The Cookie Jar. As always, Hannah is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery and is convinced that the prime suspect Mike and the Sheriff are focusing on isn’t the culprit. Hannah’s sleuthing becomes a family affair when Delores, Michelle, and their other sister, Andrea, take part in the investigation. As Hannah uncovers clues, she slowly rules out suspects and is led to the shocking truth about the killer’s identity!
Although their characters called off their engagement in the previous movie, Sweeney and Mathison were excited to be working together again when they filmed A Zest For Death in mid-June. “Here we go again!” Sweeney cheered on Instagram. “Back on set filming another Hannah Swensen with my friend Cameron.”
Sharing the same behind-the-scenes photo, Mathison added that this is the duo’s eighth movie together. “So grateful to be working with this amazing woman, and everyone that’s a part of this incredible series of movies,” he wrote.
In addition to starring in the film, Sweeney also serves as an executive producer as part of her multi-picture deal with Hallmark Media. A Zest For Death will debut at 9 p.m. ET.
