Watch Maurice Benard’s “The Birthday Bash”
This year, GENERAL. HOSPITAL star Maurice Benard (Sonny) decided to celebrate his birthday on March 1 by releasing a short film featuring his friends called The Birthday Bash! After some hints about a secret project were dropped back in January, the actor shared the first sneak peek at the movie he directed with an exciting trailer in February.
“You’ve probably heard me say that this year I wanted to do something for the fans on my birthday,” Benard wrote on YouTube where the video is hosted. “Well, now the time has come to reveal my special project. It was fun to see a lot of my friends acting outside the box and I want to thank each of them for being so willing to join me in this adventure, no questions asked.”
The cast includes Benard, Carlos Avila, Victoria Gotti, Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke), Réal Andrews (Taggart), Majid Raees, Steve Burton (Jason), Dominic Zamprogna (Dante), Kin Shriner (Scotty), Joshua Benard Paula Benard, Jeff Kober (Cyrus), Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan), Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Brooklyn), Jim Warren, and of course, everyone’s favorite, Buddy the Goat!
Although things start off with an epic and dramatic tone, things very quickly take a turn for the silly as the actors all have a great time playing different characters than the ones the GH fans are used to seeing them as. And Benard looks to be having the most fun of all!
