Longtime fans were excited by the news that Rena Sofer was coming back to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Lois and for those who can’t wait until the Tuesday, Oct. 10 episode to see the character again, a first look at her big comeback has been released online!
TVLine shared an exclusive clip of Lois’ first scene back at GH and the drama kicks off pretty much immediately! Naturally, Brook Lynn is thrilled to open the door of the Quartermaine mansion to find her mother standing on the other side. Tracy, on the other hand, is less than enthused.
After trading barbs with her former daughter-in-law, Tracy asks, “So to what do we owe this hopefully brief visit?” Lois assures a concerned Brook Lynn that everything is fine back in Bensonhurst and that she came to Port Charles to check on her after reading that she was fired from Deception. When Brook Lynn assures her mother that she deserved to lose her job, Lois is stunned to learn that Tracy manipulated her into corporate espionage!
Of course, the conflict between Lois and Tracy will be nothing compared to her reaction to the fact that following a head injury, Ned now believes himself to be Eddie Maine. Given that all those years ago, Lois fell in love with Eddie and not Ned Quartermaine, this could prove an intriguing development. Especially since Ned’s current wife, Olivia, has started to find herself falling for the Eddie personality.
Sofer made her daytime debut back in 1988 as Rocky on LOVING but became a real soap star playing Lois on GH from 1993-96, earning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1996. She then made guest appearances in February and October 1997 before finding success in primetime. The actress didn’t return to daytime until joining the cast of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL as Quinn Fuller in 2013.
As soon as Sofer announced her decision to leave B&B in 2022, GH fans began hoping she would return as Lois. And now it’s finally happened! There are no details as to just how long her current visit to Port Charles will be, but a source told TVLine it’s “a nice run.”
Stay tuned for all the drama!
