GENERAL HOSPITAL to Air Bobbie’s Memorial in January

The new year is going to get off to a very sad start for GENERAL HOSPITAL fans as the soap will finally address the passing of beloved actress Jacklyn Zeman with Port Charles mourning the death of her character, Bobbie Spencer.

People is reporting that after the news of Bobbie’s passing the week of New Year’s, a very special memorial will be held over the course of two episodes scheduled to air on Wednesday, Jan. 10, and Thursday, Jan. 11. 

“When we shot the memorial, the entire cast was there. And it wasn’t just for Bobbie; it was for Jackie as well,” Laura Wright (Carly) told the outlet. “I mean, walking on set and seeing her photo, seeing all the pamphlets of like when you come to a memorial or a celebration of life, the pamphlet speaking about the individual and who is going to speak, it was bittersweet. It was about Jackie and everyone was so present. … It was like we as a cast got to really say goodbye.”

Friends and family will gather together to share special memories of Bobbie Spencer, including Ryan Carnes, who will be reprising his role of Lucas, Bobbie’s adopted son. Of course, it wouldn’t be a soap without a little drama, and the unexpected arrival of a stranger will send Carly and Felicia off on an adventure in Amsterdam to deal with some unfinished business of Bobbie’s.
