Chad Duell’s Partner Luana Lucci Shuts Down Haters

Fans were happy to congratulate GENERAL HOSPITAL star Chad Duell (Michael) and partner Luana Lucci on the birth of their son, Dawson at the end of August. However, social media being what it is, and people online being who they are, the new mom has found herself on the receiving end of some nasty comments online and decided to clear some things up.

“In response to the recent comments and DMs I’ve received from trolls, it’s disheartening to read messages suggesting that ‘I birth my son and never spend time with him’ or that I’m ‘constantly going out,’” Lucci wrote. “Comments like ‘Poor Chad, it seems he is the only one holding him and taking care of him…’ are nothing short of judgmental and unfair.

“Let me set the record straight,” she continued. “I am the one who stays awake all night with him and I spend every day with him while Daddy is at work. My little one is a handful, and he hates to sleep, so he’s in my arms 24/7. I am the one behind every cute video you see.”

Lucci also pointed out that social media is never an accurate representation of a person’s life, just a small glimpse into some highlights that they choose to share. So just because her Instagram includes photos of her and Duell enjoying some time to themselves at a concert or a wedding doesn’t mean that’s all she’s doing.

 “Shaming a mother because she also wants to have some time to herself is not only unfair but also ridiculous,” she declared. “I love my son and cherish every moment with him but I also deserve moments of personal time and a life beyond motherhood. Let’s remember that what we see on social media is just a snapshot of reality, not the full picture. So before jumping to conclusions or passing judgment, let’s practice kindness and empathy.”
