Inga Cadranel Explains Why She Isn’t Returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL
The current global coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone’s lives and while the soaps were able to resume production under strict safety guidelines, there have been some changes. For instance, don’t look for Harmony in Port Charles because Inga Cadranel has announced she won’t be back on GENERAL HOSPITAL for quite some time. “I absolutely treasured my time on GH,” she tweeted. “The most wonderful people. I’m so grateful. I’m in Toronto filming and with quarantine, timing didn’t work.”
Unfortunately, Cadranel is up in Canada working on the new season of the Netflix sitcom WORKIN’ MOMS, and returning to Los Angeles periodically to reprise the role of Harmony simply isn’t feasible during the current situation. “Thank you, GH,” she expressed on Instagram. “I love everyone involved in this show to bits and pieces. I am forever grateful to the producers, actors, and fans for making me feel so welcome.
“I wish times were different and COVID wasn’t a factor in the landscape right now,” Cadranel continued, “but shooting in Canada and going to L.A. to then continue shooting here with quarantine timing and my children, we just couldn’t make the schedule work. I will treasure my time on GH forever… and you never know what the future may bring.”
Harmony first appeared on GH in February 2019 as part of the Dawn of Day storyline and was later revealed to be Loraine Miller, mother to Willow Tait. Although she was jailed, Harmony was later released and tried to make nice with her daughter… though she’d fallen in with another dangerous villain, working for Cyrus Renault!
If Harmony is to remain a part of Cyrus’ storyline as it unfolds, the soap will be forced to recast with an L.A.-based actress. But if they can write around her for the time being and wait to bring Harmony back to Port Charles, perhaps there will come a time when Cadranel will be available again. As she said herself, “you never know what the future may bring!” So stay tuned for updates!
