Kim Delaney Cast on GENERAL HOSPITAL!

Welcome another Emmy winner to Port Charles! Kim Delaney is joining the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL in an as-yet-unspecified role. And unfortunately, when Deadline broke the news, they also didn’t have an exact airdate as to when she would make her debut on the soap. Although she is reportedly reporting to the studio to begin filming on Wednesday, Sept. 9, so her first episodes should be some time at the end of September or early October.

Delaney is no stranger to daytime, having launched her impressive acting career by playing teenager Jenny Gardner Nelson on ABC sudser ALL MY CHILDREN. She stayed with the soap from 1981-84 and earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1983. After leaving daytime, the actress moved on to appear in films like That Was Then… This Is Now and star in primetime series like L.A. LAW, NYPD BLUE, CSI, and ARMY WIVES. She earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for her work on NYPD BLUE and took home the trophy in 1997.

While the role Delaney is playing on GH is being kept hush-hush, some fans of the soap are speculating that she could be playing Lois Cerullo, Brook Lynn’s mother who Ned called when their daughter was nearly killed recently. Will she be playing a recast of an existing character or someone entirely new to Port Charles? stay tuned to find out!
