Michael Easton Shares an Old Movie Clip With Emma Samms!

New to Instagram, Michael Easton (Finn, GENERAL HOSPITAL) has been filling up his page with lots of content spanning the course of his decades-long career in the entertainment industry as well as personal family photos. His most recent post was a gem of a throwback clip from the 1992 movie Shadow of a Stranger, starring none other than GH’s Emma Samms (ex-Holly)!

Samms and Parker Stevenson headlined the made-for-TV movie as Sarah and Ted Clinton. Noticing a boat being violently hurled around by a storm, the Clintons rescue the shipwrecked passengers — a young teacher named Vanessa (played by Joan Chen) and her boyfriend, Easton’s Shawn — and invite them to stay at their beach house. But when it turns out that the boat belongs to an elderly couple who mysteriously disappeared, Sarah and Ted find themselves caught up in a web of intrigue and murder!

The movie was one of Easton’s early film roles, and he looked back on the time (and his co-star!) fondly. “I played a lot of bad boys when I first started out,” he wrote. “Most of them ended up getting killed. This time it was at the hands of the lovely Emma Samms. I had no idea what I was doing, and Emma couldn’t have been kinder to me. And I am grateful to her to this day.”

Shadow of a Stranger aired on December 7, 1992, on NBC. Easton had wrapped up his run as DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Tanner Scofield earlier that year and went on to appear in numerous movies and primetime television shows before returning to daytime in 2001 as Caleb Morley on PORT CHARLES. From there, as soap fans know, Easton went on to play Det. John McBain on ONE LIFE TO LIVE from 1999-2012, before moving the character over to GH that same year.

Due to legal issues surrounding Prospect Park’s revival of OLTL, Easton and McBain exited the show in March 2013, but he returned that May to create a new character, Dr. Silas Clay. After a two-year run as Silas, Easton exited GH once again, returning in March 2016 as Hamilton Finn.

Unfortunately, Shadow of a Stranger is not currently available to stream. So you will just have to get your fill of a younger Michael Easton by watching the clip he shared on repeat!
