Rick Hearst Shares a Special Message With His Fans

Tags:

During his career in daytime, Rick Hearst has appeared on almost a half-dozen soaps, earning fans as Scotty on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Alan-Michael on GUIDING LIGHT, Matt on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, Whip on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, and Ric on GENERAL HOSPITAL. It’s been a while since they’ve seen the Emmy-winner on TV, but they also haven’t seen much of him on social media lately. So the actor did a quick Instagram video from the kitchen of his family’s Italian restaurant in Atlanta to change all that!

“What’s going on, everybody,” Hearst smiled. “Happy 2022. Believe it or not, I’m actually online. I don’t come online anymore. I don’t do a lot of posts. I don’t do a lot of social media. It’s not because I don’t love everybody out there, it’s just… it’s a little loud out there recently.

“Anyway, the reason I did want to come on real quick,” he continued, “I’m here right now minding our family’s Italian food store… restaurant, sort of…” The actor then turned his phone for a quick view of the kitchen, showing off the pizza oven. “Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and have a great 2022 to start. COVID-free, or if you did get it, it’s passed, move on from it. Stay safe, stay vaxxed, stay masked, do what you gotta do… It’s one planet, we’re one people.”

Hearst’s last appearance in daytime was back in 2016 when he reprised the role of Sonny’s brother, Ric, on GH.Howard Wise/jpistudios.com

Then Hearst went on to admit that he doesn’t have time to come on social media and type out stuff because he rambles, which then made him laugh as he joked that he was doing exactly that right now. But he did want to share a special message with his fans. “I also wanted to say thank you to everybody out there,” he declared. “All my friends, all my fans… and my dear friends, near and far, for wishing me a happy birthday. 57, it’s crazy, man. Life goes like that so enjoy every minute of it.” (The actor celebrated his birthday last week on Jan. 4.)

Hearst also invited anyone in the Atlanta area to come visit him at Nonna’s Family Kitchen for a delicious meal. But when he tried to sign off, the actor had to laugh at himself when he couldn’t figure out how to stop recording! You can enjoy his entire video message to you right here!
