The character of Kristina Cassadine was introduced in August 2001 and played by actress Jaime Ray Newman until her storyline came to a tragic end in August 2002. Here’s what you need to know:
Princess Kristina Mikkosovna Cassadine was first introduced as a mystery woman who was staying with Jasper “Jax” Jacks and was eager to speak to Alexis Davis. He hid her when Helena Cassadine came to visit and threatened Alexis’ life. Eventually, Jax connected Kristina with Alexis, who learned she was the little sister she’d failed to protect as a baby when Helena killed their mother! As Kristina continued to hide from Helena, Ned Ashton joined in to help, and they grew closer.
Once Helena was in jail, Kristina confronted her and promised she was her mother’s daughter. She considered singing for L&B Records and shared a kiss with Ned to ring in the new year as their relationship grew deeper. However, the pair wanted to make sure Alexis was okay with her sister dating her ex. After Kristina let slip to Sonny Corinthos that her sister had feelings for him, it led to Alexis and Sonny sleeping together.
When Alexis became pregnant, Kristina was shocked when Ned claimed he was the baby’s father and dumped him. But Kristina learned the truth when she discovered a partially burned confession that Alexis had failed to completely destroy. Determined to tell Sonny about his baby, Kristina went to one of his warehouses and arrived just as a bomb set by Luis Alcazar blew up!
Roy DiLucca and Felicia Scorpio found Kristina seriously injured and she was rushed to the hospital where she held on long enough to promise Alexis she wouldn’t say anything and profess her love to Ned. After she died, Alexis named her and Sonny’s baby girl Kristina Davis so her sister’s memory would live on in her niece.
