Brooke Anne Smith Is the New Molly on GENERAL HOSPITAL

Viewers were surprised to see yet another new Molly on GENERAL HOSPITAL in the July 19 episode. As the announcer declared when she first appeared on the show, the role of Molly is now being played by Brooke Anne Smith.

Smith kicked off her career back in 2000 with a role in an episode of 7TH Heaven and has appeared in series like MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE, JUDGING AMY, CSI, and AWKWARD. The actress starred as Shelby Hayes on the Tyler Perry series TOO CLOSE TO HOME and can also be seen in movies like Destruction: Las Vegas, Brandt Point, Wake Up, and Bad Connection.

The character of Molly Lansing-Davis was first introduced back in 2005 and after a series of twins, Alexis and Ric’s daughter was aged into a pre-teen in 2009 when Haley Pullos stepped into the role. Following Pullos’ arrest after causing a dangerous car accident, Molly was temporarily recast with Holiday Mia Kriegel in May 2023.

With Molly currently in the middle of a big storyline as she and TJ struggle to start a family in spite of her being unable to carry a baby herself, Smith will have plenty of meaty material coming up to sink her teeth into. Especially if Molly and TJ decide to take Kristina up on her offer to act as their surrogate and carry her sister’s child.

Some fans are still hopeful that Pullos will return to the role of Molly when she irons out her legal issues and time in rehab, but for now, the story will continue to unfold, just with another new face in the role. Please join us in welcoming Smith to the cast of GH and the Davis Girls!
